Dores Drop 2 to Auburn

COLUMBUS, G.A. – Vanderbilt faced off in two games at Auburn on Friday, Oct. 21st, and Saturday, Oct. 22nd.

A last-minute effort was not successful in tying the game. Auburn scored an empty net goal to make it 5-3 and then scored another goal with 1.8 seconds remaining in regulation.

Junior forward Tristan Reilly scored his first as a Commodore. Cody Heiser and Julian Yang also netted one each.

Vanderbilt returned for game 2 at 9 AM on Saturday.

Auburn quickly went up 4-0 in the first period. Julian Yang scored on the power play in the third period to prevent the Auburn shutout.

The Dores are back in action at Bellevue on Friday, Nov. 4th at 8:00 PM against the University of South Carolina.

17 COMMODORES NAMED ALL-ACADEMIC

NASHVILLE, T.N. – 17 Commodores were named to the College Hockey South’s All-Academic Team for the 2021-22 year.

For eligibility, players had to have completed their freshman year and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and above.

Vanderbilt players that were All-Academic include: Wil Gonzales, Trace Teodori, Owen Boersma, Luke Cassidy, Josh Peng, Ethan Smiley, Ethan Chi, Mike Brady, Kyle Fraser, Clark Davis, Jebb Vincent, Drew Coyne, Max Mona, Julian Yang, Val Sverdlov, Brady Chitkara, and Ethan Rand

Chitkara and Rand were further recognized as being members of the CHS’s “4.0 Club” – two of 15 players in conference.

OUT-DORES

NASHVILLE, T.N. – Vanderbilt will take on MTSU at Nissan Stadium on Sunday, Feb. 27th at 10:30 PM.

Currently, attendance is not open to the public.

Vanderbilt is 1-2 this season against MTSU, being outscored 17-13.

NEWS: JAN. 15TH AND 16TH GAMES VS. BOSTON COLLEGE CANCELLED

NASHVILLE, T.N. – The Jan. 15th and Jan. 16th games vs. Boston College have been cancelled due to updated COVID-19 guidelines published by university administration on Dec. 30th.

Vanderbilt delayed the start of the second semester until Jan. 17th. Additionally, the university moved all programming and student activities virtual, banning all in-person activities, including club sports, until after Jan. 25th in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

The Commodores are scheduled to visit Ole Miss on Jan. 28th and 29th.
