NASHVILLE, T.N. – Vanderbilt started 2023 with a 2 game series sweep over Kennesaw State.

The Commodores outscored the Owls 17-5, with a 6-2 victory on Friday and a 11-3 victory on Saturday.

Junior goalie Andrew Shearson made 26 saves on 28 shots Friday. Sophomore goalie Micah Olson stopped 27 out of 30 shots on Saturday.

Junior forward Julian Yang scored 4 goals and assisted 4 over the weekend. Sophomore forward Drew Fietze netted 3 goals and assisted 2. Christian Cottone had a notable performance Saturday, scoring a hattrick in the 1st period and assisting 3, earning 6 points in the Dores’ game 2 victory.

Vanderbilt is back in action next weekend against Alabama. Puck drop is set for Friday at 8 p.m at the Ford Ice Center Bellevue
